TRAIL OF TEARS-Bloodstained Endurance (2009)

Trail of Tears es una banda originaria de la ciudad de Kristiansand, Noruega, de metal gótico y black metal sinfónico formada en 1994 bajo el nombre de “Natt”.' A través de la mayor parte de su carrera, enfatizó en el uso de contrastar vocales de soprano con guturales propias del black metal. Sin embargo, con la realización del álbum Free Fall into Fear en 2005, la banda cambió este contraste con vocales de tenor y gutural, con escasos pasajes de soprano.

TIAMAT-Amanethes (2008)

Aunque empezaron como una banda Black Metal con su anterior nombre Treblinka, y ya como Tiamat se iniciaron practicando Death Metal, esta banda sueca se convirtió en hacedora de una de las experiencias sonoras mas sublimes dentro de la escena Doom Metal, gracias a su memorable «WILDHONEY», disco ciertamente influenciado por el rock progresivo de Pink Floyd, e imprescindible en la escena junto a los primeros trabajos de otros grupos como Anathema, My Dying Bride, o Paradise Lost. Posteriormente se adentraron en sonoridades más cercanas al gótico y a un rock/metal más experimental. Su vocalista Edlund militó en otras bandas como Expulsion, fundando también Lucyfire a finales de los 90 y colaborando como invitado en Ayreon. Todos o casi todos sus miembros han participado en multitud de bandas de renombre como Dismember, Lake Of Tears o Arch Enemy.

BANDAS ARGENTINAS (Del Underground)

Vale la pena prestar el oido a estas bandas, en la entrada anterior sobre bandas nacionales les habia mostrado excelentes agrupaciones de gothic metal, en esta ocasion, me focalizo en aquellas pocas bandas que realizan un excelente trabajo musical con el folk nordico.Tengwar nos ofrece folk metal epico de alto vuelo, Skiltron nos entrega celtic metal de gran calidad, tuve la oportunidad de verlos en vivo como teloneros de In Extremo y realmente me saco el sombrero ante su talento.Y por ultimo Kutna Hora, se diferencia de las otras dos al no ser una banda de metal, pero son creadores de grandes melodias de dark folk a cargo del mentor del programa La mision de los eternos, que actualmente esta a cargo del sello discografico Twilight Records, a ellos tambien los pude ver en vivo, como teloneros de Ataraxia, y les puedo garantizar que estas producciones argentinas son de las mejores.
